Janiah Miller

Racial Justice and Policy Associate

Janiah Miller (she/her/hers) is a proud first-generation college student who earned her Bachelors in Integrative Studies from Northern Kentucky University, where she studied political science, social justice, and women and gender studies. Experienced in community organizing, governmental and nonprofit management, Janiah uses an intersectional framework when approaching societal inequities to push for transformative change. She also earned her Master of Public Administration: Social Justice from the University of Cincinnati and a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

A strong advocate for people first advocacy, she is an experienced community organizer and political strategist who began her social action career by accepting Cincinnati City Hall’s position as a director of community relations for Councilmember Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney. At 21, she became one of the youngest Directors at Cincinnati City Hall.

Janiah’s accomplishments include developing a training program with the Cincinnati Black United Front, which resulted in three policy changes being implemented in the Fraternal Order of Police Contract (this is the only Black-led organization to accomplish this in the country); serving as the first female President of Southwest Ohio Young Black Democrats and precinct executive; and spearheading the effort to release 1400+ hard copies of Cincinnati’s first Housing Justice Voter Empowerment Guide.
