Kyle Johnson serves as a Digital Organizer at Innovation Ohio, specializing in Rural and Youth Outreach. As an Afro-Indigenous Rural Organizer, he brings a wealth of experience from local, state, and congressional political campaigns. Currently a Junior at Ohio University-Zanesville, Johnson is a fierce advocate for the underserved, having spearheaded community meetings and outreach initiatives that elevate Queer and Black communities. Most notably, in the fall of 2023, he played a pivotal role in halting the development of a multi-million-dollar correctional facility proposed for a Black and economically disadvantaged neighborhood.
Johnson’s dedication to community advocacy and leadership has been honored with the prestigious Jenco Award from The Foundation for Appalachia Ohio. This award celebrates individuals who have made significant community impacts through activism.
