Bill Analysis: This bill would enact the “Pregnancy Reasonable Accommodations Act” requiring employers to provide reasonable accommodations to pregnant and breastfeeding employees such as more frequent breaks, light lifting duty, or seating. It would legally protect an employee from discrimination in the workforce on the basis accommodations needed due to their pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Status: The bill was introduced in the Senate on March 29, 2016. It was referred to the Senate Civil Justice Committee on April 12, 2016. Bill received Committee hearings on April 20 and May 4, 2016.
