Legislation: Ohio House Bill 129 – Stalking

Bill: House Bill 129 (full text, official bill analysis) Title: Stalking Sponsors: Representative Stautberg Co-Sponsors: Representatives Adams, J., Becker, Fedor, Hackett, Hayes, McGregor  Bill Analysis: The bill expands the definition of stalking, expanding the definition to include words that are directed at or identify a “corporation, association or other organization that employes the other person or to which the person belongs.”  The bill also modifies the penalties for stalking and allows for organization in which two or more individuals are victims to file for a temporary protection order. Status: Introduced in the House April 16,2013, received hearings in the House. Passed the House on January 22, 2014. Passed the Senate on June 3, 2014.
