What’s Wrong With This Picture?

event Another example of Gov. Kasich’s cluelessness when it comes to women was on stark display last week when he spoke to the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.  The organization is open to female entrepreneurs and company owners or partners who have at least a 5% ownership stake in their firms.  Among the goals in their Mission Statement is “growing strong, profitable women-owned businesses, transforming public policy and influencing opinion makers.” One might logically conclude that members of this organization are not only interested in business but might even have a few ideas to offer policy-makers on the subject.
So it was a bit of a head-scratcher when Gov. Kasich said:
“I’m absolutely thrilled women are taking a much larger role,” said Kasich.  “You offer something so different than what men offer.  My legislators who understand issues like autism and Medicaid expansion, I go to women with a different point of view and a different understanding.”
While many women are rightfully concerned with Medicaid and autism, certainly this group of women might have something further to offer?  Perhaps some advice on creating jobs?
