Report: States enact 106 new reproductive health laws in 2013
The Guttmacher Institute released a report recently that looked at abortion restrictions that have been advanced in the states. Their report showed that in the “first six months of 2013, state enacted 106 provisions related to reproductive health and rights.” The report goes on to show that 43 of the provisions were restriction on abortion. This is second only to the number of restriction passed in the states in 2011, when 80 provisions were enacted by this point in the year.
As the economy recovers throughout the nation, surely state legislatures have other issues they could focus on?
