Analysis: IO looks at new Cleveland school plan
Today, IO released the first independent, comprehensive analysis of the Cleveland school reform plan, proposed by Mayor Frank Jackson. We believe such an analysis is critical, given recent hints from Governor Kasich and the state’s track record of taking Cleveland experiments statewide. Our analysis identifies some of the innovative changes that should be embraced, suggests improvements to other components, and highlights some dangerous changes that, if enacted, would set bad precedent for education policy statewide and would not serve Cleveland students.
