Bill: Senate Bill 214 (full text) Title: Prohibit State and Federal Fund Use For Elective Abortion Sponsors: Senator Faber Co-Sponsors: Senators Hite, Uecker, Seitz, Patton, Oelslager, Balderson, Lehner, Gardner, Hottinger, Peterson, Bacon, Eklund, Coley, Burke, Obhof, LaRose, Jordan, Beagle, Hughes, Jones, Widener Bill Analysis: This bill would require the Department of Health to ensure that state funds and certain federal funds are not used to perform or promote elective abortions.  It would also prevent the Department of health to contract or affiliate with any entity that performs or promotes elective abortions. Status: Introduced in the Senate on September 23, 2015.  Referred to the Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee on September 30, 2015.  Received Committee Hearings on October 14 and 21, 2015. The Committee reported an amended version on October 21, 2015.  The bill was voted on in the Senate on October 21, 2015 and passed 23-10.
