Last year, in part of our continuing examination of Governor Kasich’s track record on education, we released a report entitled “The School Funding Squeeze.” That report, as well as other Innovation Ohio work and recent news about Ohio’s troubled charter school sector, is now in the national spotlight as attention focuses on the runner-up in the New Hampshire GOP primary.
Today’s Washington Post features a detailed look at what they call Kasich’s “education mess,” and it’s a must-read for those interested in what a President Kasich could accomplish in Washington:
“Ohio Gov. John Kasich is campaigning for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination by touting ‘successes’ in his state, including his education record. But a look at that record offers a somewhat different picture than the one he paints. In fact, some see a real education mess created by the Kasich administration since he took office in 2011.”
